Adidjah Palmer Addresses Students At The University of the West Indies
Opening his remarks with a simple but profound question—”Who is Vybz Kartel?”—dancehall artist Adi Di Teacha aka Adidjah Palmer recently lectured at the University of the West Indies. Kartel was invited to lecture by Professor Carolyn Cooper, the author of many scholarly studies on dancehall culture, who also teaches a course on ‘Reggae Poetry’ in UWI’s English Department. “I think it is not only a good step for me, but a great step for dancehall,” Kartel recently told The Star. “It shows that at least few of us dancehall artistes have the mental capacity to speak on the music as true ambassadors on a tertiary level and not all of us are ‘duppy bat’ and ‘butu’ like.” The title of his presentation at UWI was “Pretty as a Colouring Book: My Life and My Art.” Take a listen and share your views on Kartel’s professorial abilities…

What kind of positive influence does this self promoting freak has on the youths!!
UWI should be ashamed to have had him..I can tell his intelligence by his ATTIRE for the occasion…
He knows the influence he has on the youths and seek to ignore that…having talent doesn’t make you intelligent!! listen to his lyrics as he said..and to those who glorify him I hope your daughters have a man like that to demean dem …but she will have money!!
I would have like to support his music depending on the context but if I do that it also invloves supporting him as person!!! NOT!!!I am a real Jamaican
