Jamaica’s top-ranking soul man Beres Hammond tops an all-star lineup that also includes Marcia Griffiths (who’s celebrating 50 years in the music biz), her former partner in Bob Marley and the Wailers’ back-up harmony trio the I-Threes, Judy Mowatt, along with Marcia’s longtime musical mentor and ace songwriter Bob Andy, lovers rock veteran and roots reggae rebel John Holt, the fast-rising rootical dancehall star Chronixx and his Zinc Fence Redemption band, plus the mega-platinum Australian pop duo Air Supply. Just added: the smooth harmonies of Lukie D, Thriller U, Singing Melody, and Tony Curtis—aka L.U.S.T. Bringing a touch of class reminiscent of the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival, GITP is a show for everybody who’s tired of the alms house and who appreci-loves some good quality reggae, rhythm & blues.
