The last time she was in NYC Spice linked up with The ReggaeGirlAboutTown to chat ’bout “So Mi Like It” and explained why she decided to rap on the remix with Busta. She also revealed that the real Grace Hamilton is very different from her onstage image as Spice.     Lady Chann Drops Big Bombs Like She Name Bagdad

Spitting lyrics like fire as usual, Chann’s latest tune, “I Duppy Riddim” is a mash-up of London’s underground scene—dancehall with a bit of jungle, D&B, grime and everything in the middle. In short, Chann’s signature style. Since getting her start with London’s Suncycle crew she’s been throwing out cuts like “Your Eye Too Fast,” “Feel Calm” and “Sticky Situation” and collaborating with the likes of Sticky, Toddla T, Durrty Goodz, Manga, Gappy Ranx, Skibadee and Beenie Man. Now, on the heels of her Dun Dem Season Trilogy mixtape the Norweezy native teams up with producer Benny Page on the I Duppy Riddim released on her own label, Dun Dem Records. The tune officially drops July 6 but it’s already getting rinsed on the radio and now there’s eye-popping video. Never afraid to say what’s on her mind, Chann speaks the truth in her tunes. Tracks like “Eye too fast” show she’s not scared to call a guy out on his bad behaviour.     The Unruly Boss Graces The Mag’s Summer Music Issue

    Dancehall star Popcaan is one of the four artists featured on the cover of The Fader‘s new music issue as the promotions for his Where We Come From album ramp up ahead of next Tuesday’s release.  In the story music journalist Jesse Serwer journeys up to Papi’s birthplace, the rural village of Hayfield in the Jamaican parish of St. Thomas. Along the way he learns the roots of Papi’s nickname. “This call-it-what-I-want approach to language—[Popcaan]’s music is similarly rich with fresh terminology—is perhaps summed up best by the term he’s becoming synonymous with: unruly. It’s a word that Popcaan recalls hearing during childhood scoldings, and which he’s flipped into a badge of independence, proudly worn in song lyrics, social media hashtags, homemade T-shirts and a tattoo on his chest that reads “Unruly Boss” (his followers and associates have likewise dubbed themselves the Unruly Gang).
