The vid pairs classic footage of U Roy in all his splendor, galavanting up and down the stage over the reworked track. Video After The Jump… (more…)

Things Were Such Simpler Back Then

We all have that one person who occupies our mind. The one we, in odd hours of the day, gaze and wonder about what could have been or in some cases should have been, “the one that got away” as they say. There’s also another saying that goes “if you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you, it’s yours forever.” This is what Wayne illustrates in his latest visual for “Reset It” We often find someone who is perfect for us but the timing may not have been appropriate, but the love is still their to revisit hopefully a few years down the line. Dancehall’s Rebel Princess Demonstrates How To Hold Her Man Down—Just Bust A Likkle “Bad Gyal Wine”

Danielle D.I. revealed her rebel side in a duet with Cherine Anderson and showed her bold side when she told Shabba Ranks she needs a “big big man.” In her newest music video, “My Man,” she goes all out and explores her sexy side to the fullest. “My Man” is the latest single from Danielle’s debut album Sly and Robbie Presents the Rebel, which also includes such bedroom bangers as “Pat It  Up” and “Sexual Healing” featuring Gramps Morgan.  Riding the classic Sly & Robbie riddim “Triplet,” Danielle proclaims that she has her man’s back at all times, and even when his pockets are empty she still loves him to death. The video, directed by D.R.Y. (aka Di Rawtid Yute), shows exactly what “loving her man to death” looks like—leaving little to the imagination. And don’t miss her interview with Reshma B, in which she demonstrates the “Bad Gyal Wine.” Videos After The Jump…

And Now For Some Next Level Shit

Ever since we heard that big Mavado & Nicki tune on the Overdrive riddim, visions of an ill video have been dancing in our heads. Well the Gully Gaad stopped by BET’s 106 & Park today with DJ Khaled to premiere tbe video and it’s every bit as jiggy as we imagined it would be. Expensive whips? Check. Jamaican flags? Check. Wining pon headtop? Check. Multiple wig colors? Check.  (Justus we see you!) OK so maybe the trailer suggested that this Grizz Lee epic might have a bit more of a plot, but why quibble?  The tune is on point and Stulla + Barbz = a good look for dancehall overall. The only bad part is that Roach isn’t here to enjoy it all. Video After The Jump… (more…)

Out In The Streets They Call It…

They call DJ Sliink “The Jersey Club King” but don’t hold it against him. Sliink and NYC’s DJ Fresh Direct joined forces on a hard-hitting refix that’s aptly titled “Murder.” According to his Soundcloud Sliink chopped up the vocals on the Ini Kamoze sample from Damian Marley’s dancehall classic “Welcome To Jamrock,” while DJ Fresh Direct threw the 808s underneath. The result is, well, murderous. Audio After The Jump… (more…)
