WATCH THIS: Teeezy ft. Meleku “Pillow Talk” Official Music Video PREMIERE

    When Compton Meets Judgment Yard

A wise man once said “it ain’t where you’re from, it’s where you’re at.” Case in point: the natural connection between Teeezy, born and raised on the South Side of Compton, and Meleku, son of Jamaican reggae legend Sizzla Kalonji. During a recent journey to Kingston, Jamaica the Cali spitter passed through Sizzla’s Judgment Yard cultural compound in August Town. No sooner did Teeezy link with Meleku than the two youths felt a musical vibration and wasted no time getting into the studio. The first fruit of their labors is “Pillow Talk,” a featured track from Teeezy’s latest project, 1st Quarter. Boomshots is proud to present the world premiere of the song’s official visuals. right here right now. Press play and you’ll hear both of these rising stars staying true to their own authentic style as the vibes flow naturally like an island breeze. WATCH THIS: Protoje ft. Wiz Khalifa “A VIBE” Visualizer

    Bares Vibes An’ Ting

You know how when you blaze a spliff in the morning and you hold A VIBE but then later on your forget what you did the whole rest of the day? Protoje’s new album is kinda like that. It’s titled In Search of Lost Time, and it’s rolling out via his Indigg Collective partnership with RCA. That’s a big deal since because when was the last time a Jamaican artist set up their own international joint venture? Take a minute, think about it, and let us know if you can think of anybody else ever. Protoje’s always been about his business. Back in 2016 he told Boomshots “If you can’t own your masters, lef’ the slaveship.” So he stuck with that vision and leveraged an agreement for himself and Indigg artists Lila Ike and Sevana. Respect is due for making moves to ensure that reggae music is treated with respect. Fresh off his collaboration with the Unruly Boss “Like Royalty,” Protoje is back with another high-profile combination. For the latest joint off In Search of Lost Time, Diggy links with Wiz for a smoked-out session that could only be called “A VIBE.” Check out the full interview with Protoje and Reshma B after the jump. • Boomshots 420 Playlist (2018)

    Boomshots 420 Playlist (2018)

A Playlist with Smoking Hot Chalice Chunes

California was the first state to launch a program for the use of medical marijuana, with Proposition 215 in 1996. This was followed up with the groundbreaking Senate Bill 420 in 2003, to clarify the provisions for medical use and protect those with authorized medical prescriptions from criminalization. This gave way to the 420 movement that is celebrated on April 20 for cannabis culture. Now 29 states allow for the medical use of marijuana, while only 8 states (California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Maine, Florida, North Dakota, Arkansas and Montana) have legalized recreational use in the United States. On a Federal level, marijuana is illegal and viewed as a highly addictive Schedule I drug, with no therapeutic properties.

Reggae music, as a genre, has always produced music with a high level of consciousness and significant social commentary. Throughout the years, there have been many marijuana anthems promoting freedom of choice, which are highly revered by smokers and non-smokers of this plant. On this 420, also Earth Day we hope to take you on a natural musical and mystic high with the Boomshots 420 Playlist.  Boomshots 420 Playlist After The Jump…

Kabaka Pyramid Shows Why He Is Accurate About Matters of the Heart

Kabaka Pyramid carefully set the path for his musical career, by having a unique creativity combined with a command of knowledge. From onset, it was clear that this lyricist was here to make his mark, while spreading universal messages for social change and consideration. This was especially evident on his 2016 Mixtape Collaboration with Walshy Fire of Major Lazer, entitled, “Accurate.”

Today this versatile artist released the visual for his sensual song, “Kaught Up,” which features reggae chants, rhythm and blues vocals and authentic hip hop over the Genis Trani  Nadal beat. The on camera chemistry and realism of this video directed by Alex Sandoval, meshes well with the song’s poignant lyrics. Fans went into a frenzy on social media after the video, shot in Miami, premiered on BET Jams. This created more hype in anticipation of his soon to be released debut album, “Kontraband.”  Damian Marley, winner of the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album is the executive producer for this debut album (Bebble Rock Music/ Ghetto Youths International).  Video After The Jump…

MASS APPEAL reports that Nasty Nas and L-Boogie aka Ms. Lauryn Hill will embark upon a North American tour this fall, with Jamaican reggae star Chronixx as their opening act. The Queensbridge rapper and the former member of the Fugees famously collaborated on the 1996 anthem “If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)” off of Nas’ chart-topping sophomore album, It Was Written, and have remained close friends since. For over 20 years these two artists have proven themselves to be some of the most distinctive and influential voices in hip hop. Both artists have also show a strong respect for reggae music—Hill having collabed with Bounty Killer as a member of The Fugees, and with Bob Marley on the classic duet “Turn Your Lights Down Low.” Nas meanwhile joined forces with Damian Marley for the classic album Distant Relatives.
