WATCH THIS: Anthony B “Storm Winds” Live
The DJ’s Song Takes On New Meaning
Anthony B. knows a thing or two about “Storms Winds,” no doubt. Performing the song at Brooklyn’s One Mic event last week was a moment of triumph. Along with a few band mates, the artist was arrested on ganja charges a few weeks back. His lawyer has since released a statement that they plan to fight these charges. The struggle continues, but at least on stage he knows he’s free. Video After The Jump… (more…) -

It Doesn’t Take Much To Be Happy When You Enjoy Life’s Simple Things
Chronixx is back with another melodic one drop track, this one produced by Bost & Bim for Special Delivery Music / ROD. As usual the music and visuals are 100% hype-free. This is one artist who overstands the importance of sticking to the basics—good music, good messages—and that’s why Chronixx is winning. Video After The Jump…

HEAR THIS: Protoje “I&I”
Diggy’s Debut Disc “The 8 Year Affair” Hits iTunes Today
Protoje has cut his own path through the reggae industry, bringing a fresh voice and mental sharpness to the ting. If you liked his Seven Year Itch sampler, then you’ll love his debut album The 8 Year Affair, which appeared on iTunes today. The single “Kingston Be Wise” set the bar pretty high, but we’re really feeling track #2 off the album, which rides a heavy Sly & Robbie-ish riddim with horns and the whole nine yards. But don’t sleep on “Black Cinderella” or “Reggae Revival” featuring Romain Virgo. As a matter of fact, don’t sleep on Protoje. Support real reggae music. Nuff said. Audio After The Jump… (more…) -

Jimmy Cliff Says Reggae Grammy Should Be Televised
Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Wins Best Reggae Album Grammy—But He’s Not Satisfied
When the Beatles imagined being over the hill and out of it, they sang a song called “When I’m Sixty-Four.” But reggae legend Jimmy Cliff has reached that ripe old age and he says he’s “just getting started.” Cliff won the best reggae album Grammmy for his 2012 release, Rebirth, outdoing stiff competition from The Original Wailers, Sean Paul, Sly & Robbie, and Toots and the Maytals. But he’s not satisfied with being nominated… or even with winning. Jimmy Cliff wants to win on TV. “It’s a nice thing to be nominated for a Grammy,” he told CBSNews.com. “However, I do think that people ought to see me on TV, accepting the Grammy. Not the way it is being done at the moment for a reggae Grammy where you just hear about it. It’s about time they show me on TV.” Read More After The Jump…

Since it is his production it’s fitting that Mr. Vegas turns in an outstanding performance, singing about a girl who’s can’t be by his side right now.
