Mavado has been through the Caribbean a few times, and he knows which girls known how to wine the best—even if he is banned from a few of those countries now and then! His newest single, “Caribbean Girls,” on JA Productions’ Overtime riddim, is one of the standout cuts on Mavado’s latest mixtape, So Suicidal, which dropped earlier this month.   • WATCH THIS: Snoop Lion “La La La” Video

    The Mighty Snoop Lion Unleashes His First Music Video
    Yesterday, Snoop Lion released the official music video for “La La La,” the first single from his forthcoming album Reincarnated—which of course Snoop first discussed on the Strictly Boomshots show. Snoop teamed up with acclaimed horror film director Eli Roth to create a fun, Halloween-inspired music video filled with kids in Halloween costumes and imaginative scenery.     Drake’s Upcoming Wedding Will Include Lavish Food, YMCMB and Beres Hammond?

    When most people get married they make special requests for things like a 3-layered cake or for their Uncle Joe not to grind up on any of the bridesmaids when, “Pop That,” plays. But Drake has requested something much more meaningful to him. The rapper took to his Twitter account and stated that when he gets married it would have to be to a Beres Hammond song.     Last week Konshens stormed the stage at SOB’s in NYC as part of Hot 97’s “Who’s Next Live” showcase. Although the vibes weren’t quite as nice as when he stopped by Radio Lily a few months back for the Strictly Boomshots Show, it was a very good look for the young dancehall artist, whose single “Gal A Bubble” is enjoying some nice rotation on New York radio waves.     A Refreshing Acoustic Love Song From K-Licious Music Group

    This dude Atiba sings so sweetly and softly with his aching voice atop gentle acoustic guitar chords, but don’t be deceived. Dude is going hard for the lady who’s caught his eye—even though she has a man in her life. This is a full-contact love song and there will be casualties on the battelfield when all is said and done. “Earlier on in his musical career, Atba was signed to Legendary Producer Rodney Jerkins,” says producer Tony Kelly. “He caught the ears & eyes of Jay-Z, who wanted to sign him when he was the head of Def Jam Music Group. Unfortunely the negociation broke down without success of a deal.” Well now Atiba’s signed to Kelly’s K-Licious Music Group and the sky would seem to be the limit. Anyway, back to the song: “Leave your man for me, time to set you free, help you see the light, cause I know love is blind.” You’ve got to feel bad for this girl’s man. He doesn’t stand a chance.

It’s so simple, so raw, so real. Cham just strung up a sound, threw a likkle beach party, and invited a few friends over, and everyTING tun up.      Mr. Vegas has had a bittersweet year. Between releasing his 8th studio album, Sweet Jamaica, and finding out that his wife had cheated on him, Mr. Vegas has been on a complete roller coaster ride. But the trials and tribulations of his failed marriage has not held him back from speaking out in a positive manner and continuing the promotion of his album that was released in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Reggae and the Jamaican independence. Winford Williams invited Mr. Vegas to sit down “OnStage”  and discuss the situation with his wife, his daughter and the new album. But now he’s back with an outernational tune so large and heavy it’s sponsored by Chevy—and MTV Iggy, so it must be a biggie. His smoothed reggae cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1986 classic was produced by Shane Brown of Jukeboxx and Rellee Hayden of the A-Team as part of the “Cover The World Music Challenge.” The ting tun up.
