The engineer happened to press record, and the sounds captured that day were refreshingly raw, a glimpse of the champion DJ spitting lyrics off the head as if he were toasting around a sound system—a rare treat for Buju fans who have been missing the voice of the Gargamel. Teacha’s Pet is a reality TV dating show surrounding the love life and career of Vybz Kartel, shot at a palatial residence in upper St. Andrew. Produced by Carleene Samuels and directed by Jason ‘Jay Will’ Williams of Creative Source Productions, the programme features a cast of 20 female contestants who live together and complete daily challenges as they try to win the love of Vybz Kartel.
