The Werlboss Must Wait At Least Two Weeks To Learn His Fate
Yesterday Adidja Palmer, known to dancehall fans as Vybz Kartel, was offered $3 million Jamaican bail (U.S. $35,438) relating to the murder of Barrington “Bossie” Bryan. Today he and his legal team appeared in court again in relation to another murder case: that of Clive “Lizard” Williams, who was allegedly beaten to death on August 16. Kartel’s team had planned to seek bail in that case today, but according to the Jamaica Observer, no bail application was filed. Instead the court demanded that prosecutors present all their evidence first. In an exclusive interview with Boomshots, Kartel’s attorney dismissed reports of alleged video evidence of the killing as “a rumor.” Despite press reports that incriminating videos were seized off Kartel’s laptop, no such evidence has been presented to date. Today the court ruled that the prosecution must hand over all video evidence to the defense by Decemeber 15. After that, the bail application hearing is expected on December 19. Three of Kartel’s associates also face charges in that case—Gaza artist Shawn Storm, fashion designer Calvin Haye, and Cayro Jones.
