    Bob’s Eldest Son Returns With a New Album

    Ziggy Marley is up for a Best Reggae Album Grammy next week but that doesn’t mean that the five-time Grammy winner and Reggae icon is content to just sit back and blaze a fattie. He’s recently announced plans to release his fifth studio album entitled  Fly Rasta.Produced by Ziggy with additional production from Dave Cooley (J Dilla, Silversun Pickups), the album will feature The Melody Makers including Cedella Marley, Sharon Marley and Rica Newell.  Today we look at the album’s title track, which features another Reggae icon, Daddy U-Roy, dropping his trademark DJ jive. As part of the promotion for the single, comic artist Jim Mahfood (last seen on Ziggy’s “Marijuana Man” project) did a live painting to accompany the track and it was all captured on video. “Fly Rasta” is set to drop April 15, in the mean time Check The Video After The Jump… (more…)

    Shaggy And Friends Put On A Great Show For An Even Greater Cause

    Reggae powerhouse Shaggy brought together a few friends for a charity show in aid of the Bustamante Children’s Hospital on the grounds of Jamaica House in Kingston. The level of support was evident on the streets of Kingston as patrons converged on the venue resulting in a massive traffic backup along Waterloo Road and others, with motorists crawling in line for almost an hour before being able to enter the grounds.
