    Despite The Judge’s Decision, The Werlboss Is Still Not Free

    After hitting major setbacks and having his trial postponed for next year, things are finally looking up for Vybz Kartel.

    Well, on at least one of his two murder charges, that is.

    Today, Justice Bertram Morrison approved a bail application that was previously filed by the Werlboss’s father-and-son attorney duo, Tom and Christian Tavares-Finson. The J$500,000 bail (approximately $5,500 U.S.) was granted on the case Kartel is fighting for the murder of Barrington Burton, a businessman from St. Catherine, Jamaica.   • No Bail For Kartel Today

    The Werlboss Must Wait At Least Two Weeks To Learn His Fate

    Yesterday Adidja Palmer, known to dancehall fans as Vybz Kartel, was offered $3 million Jamaican bail (U.S. $35,438) relating to the murder of Barrington “Bossie” Bryan. Today he and his legal team appeared in court again in relation to another murder case: that of Clive “Lizard” Williams, who was allegedly beaten to death on August 16. Kartel’s team had planned to seek bail in that case today, but according to the Jamaica Observer, no bail application was filed. Instead the court demanded that prosecutors present all their evidence first. In an exclusive interview with Boomshots, Kartel’s attorney dismissed reports of alleged video evidence of the killing as “a rumor.”  (more…)

  • Breaking News: Vybz Kartel Granted Bail

    The Judge Says Bail…. But Babylon Still Says Jail — For Now

    “It is quite difficult to secure bail for an individual who has more than one offense,” Christian Tavares-Finson told Boomshots yesterday. But then Kartel’s attorney added: “It is not impossible. We have done it before.” And now it looks like they’ve done it again. (more…)
