    The Mavado reign just won’t let up.  High off his stellar performance with Snoop Lion at SXSW, the Gully Gad’s Stateside winning streak continues with the sexy visuals for his hit single “Take It”  (featuring Karian Sang) being debuted on MTV. The media giant’s international music platform, MTV Iggy, has had Mavado on their radar for some time, and now they’re taking it further by including him in their prime-time lineup, positioning the Starbwoy as the next dancehall act to make a major crossover move since Sean Paul.     Gyppy Covers The World With His Colorful New Tune

    The man called Gyptian never stops. Earlier this week he dropped his EP SLR, which stands for “Sex, Love & Reggae.” Who could ask for anything more? But now he’s back with an outernational tune so large and heavy it’s sponsored by Chevy—and MTV Iggy, so it must be a biggie. His smoothed reggae cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1986 classic was produced by Shane Brown of Jukeboxx and Rellee Hayden of the A-Team as part of the “Cover The World Music Challenge.” The ting tun up.     MTV Iggy Picks I-Octane To Represent “The Future of Music”


    I-Octane’s sophomore album Crying To The Nation recently got a big co-sign from MTV Iggy, an online portal focused on highlighting “The Future of Music.” The Jamaican singjay was invited to do an exclusive acoustic performance in New York City, where he unleashed unplugged versions of the album’s title track as well as “L.O.V.E. You,” and “Zion Awaits.” Octane also talked about being raised by a single mother and pursuing his dream of making a career in music. “I don’t really put myself in a box,” he explains. “I am a reggae artist. I come from a reggae genre, a dancehall genre, but I’m just doing music. I try to do my flavor, my style.”
