Last December San Jose, California reggae band The Holdup topped the Billboard Reggae chart with their album Leaves in the Pool, Six months later, the ban’s lead singer and songwriter Mike Garmany is opening up about his battle with anxiety and depression—which left him “nearly suicidal”—in a new song called “Solid,” which Boomshots proudly premieres today. “This is not a call for sympathy nor is it an attempt to gain attention,” says Garmany. “This is an attempt to relate to other people who may be going through or have gone through similar experiences to mine.
